BICENTENNIAL GARDEN – CHAMPAGNE LAURENT-PERRIER
To celebrate its bicentenary-themed « Deux Siècles d’Elégance », Champagne Laurent-Perrier has entrusted me with the design of an Ephemeral Garden to represent them at the « Jardins en Fête » event at Château de Coppet, Switzerland.
In this garden, called « L’Arbre aux Verres », everything is symbolic : the passer-by is invited to enter in a forest through small paths in the colors of « Terre de Champagne ».
The visitor strolls through a grove of young birch trees with rosé-white bark. He eventually arrives at the heart of a clearing and reaches the five « Arbres aux Verres » ,which branches carry fruits : Hundreds of glasses monogrammed with the House’s seal and ready to collect the « sap » : le Champagne. The trees at the center of my creation represent the five qualities of Champagne Laurent-Perrier, which appeared to me as essential :
« Tradition, Harmony, Balance, Charm and Poetry ».
It is a tribute to the House’s age-old know-how.Festive gardens
